The
following presentation was created from a 35mm slide/cassette tape
program by Carl W. Nichols shown
at the 58th Annual National Plant Board Meeting held in Cherry Hill, New
Jersey on August 15, 1984. The
slide show and tape, now held in the archives of the Kansas Historical Society
were duplicated in order to
prepare this version of Carl's show. The original slides apparently were taken
with a handheld camera, thus
many are not square with the frame. The accompanying audio tape also had some
distortion that can be heard in
parts of the presentation, especially at the beginning, as a result of years
of storage on the cassette. Carl
used a chime to indicate that the next slide should be advanced and is
retained in this version
for the same purpose.
This
program runs for about 30 minutes. Audio files are large
(100-300K each), thus this program may
not be suitable for viewing over a dial-up connection.
